Frequently Asked Questions

What can I expect?

1Do you offer a consultation?

Yes! We offer a free 15 minute consultation.

2Do I need to see a physician or obtain a referral prior to my first appointment?

No. The state of Arizona allows patients to access physical therapy without any restrictions or limitations. This means there is no need to obtain a physician referral or prescription prior to beginning your treatment at Strive PT. However, keep in mind that some insurances may require physician involvement in care as a condition of reimbursement. So, if you plan to apply your out-of-network insurance benefits, we’d recommend confirming those requirements with your insurance provider.

3What can I expect during my subsequent appointments?

Once your Physical Therapist  establishes a care plan, you will attend regular appointments based on the frequency prescribed by them. These appointments will include a mix of manual (i.e., hands-on) therapy and guided exercise. Unlike appointments in many other PT practices, you will spend your entire appointment with your physical therapist. During these appointments, your PT may conduct periodic follow-up tests to assess your progress and make any necessary adjustments to your treatment plan.

4How often will I see my therapist?

The frequency of your in-clinic visits will depend on your specific needs as established during your initial evaluation with your physical therapist. On average our patients have great success with 2 times per week.

Do you take insurance?

1Do you take insurance?

We are a fully out-of-network practice, and we do not submit claims to any insurance carriers. This means patients are responsible for the full cost of care at the time of service. However, we do provide receipts to patients who wish to submit for reimbursement from their insurance companies on their own. Many patients who choose to apply their out-of-network benefits in this way are able to successfully obtain reimbursement. If you plan to do this, we recommend contacting your insurance provider to learn more about its out-of-network coverage policies and requirements. 2What are the benefits of being an out-of-network provider?

Being fully out of network allows us to focus on delivering truly patient-focused treatment without being controlled by insurance reimbursement requirements and rates. Such constraints often force therapy providers to schedule multiple patients per hour, which decreases the level of individual attention therapists can provide to each patient. Our unique one-on-one care model, on the other hand, allows patients to achieve better results in fewer visits. Additionally, our flat-rate cash-pay fee structure keeps the cost of care predictable. In other words, you’ll never have to worry about receiving a surprise bill.

3Are you a medicare provider?

No. Strive PT does not contract with Medicare, which means we cannot provide Medicare-covered therapy services to Medicare beneficiaries. However, we can provide Medicare beneficiaries with health and wellness services on a cash-pay basis.

What should I wear to my appointments?
